SYDNEY, March 2 Asia Pulse - The Australian dollar was half a US cent weaker after the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reported weaker than expected national accounts figures.
The ABS said December quarter national accounts or gross domestic product (GDP) rose by a seasonally adjusted 0.1 per cent.
Economists had forecast a rise of around 0.4 per cent.
The local unit fell ahead of the data, trading at $US0.7870 at 1122 AEDT, and by 1155 had fallen to $0.7820.
After the data was released at 1130 AEDT the Australian dollar was trading at $US0.7845.
