TAIPEI, March 2 Asia Pulse - A mainland Chinese delegation, headed by Fujian Provincial Tourism Bureau Director Huang Xiaoyen, is visiting Matsu to examine tourist spots on the Taiwan-held frontline island.
After touring local attractions including Tienhou Temple, Tunnel 88 -- where "kaoliang" rice liquor is made -- and Chinpi village, Huang said Tuesday that the island is more interesting than he thought.
The delegation, organized by the Kinmen, Matsu and Penghu branch of the Fujian Provincial Association of travel agencies, arrived in Matsu Monday via the direct "mini three links" route. Members of the group included a provincial official in charge of Taiwan affairs, Dai Xiaofeng.
