SEOUL, March 2 Asia Pulse - South Korean stocks started higher Wednesday as investor sentiment was boosted by an overnight gain on Wall Street and easing concerns about oil prices.
In the first 15 minutes of trading, the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 3.46 points, or 0.30 per cent, to 1,014.82. The tech-rich KOSDAQ index was up 3.50 points, or 0.70 per cent, at 501.88.
Market leader Samsung Electronics was unchanged at 527,000 won, and Hynix Semiconductor slipped 0.66 per cent to 14,950 won.
