Community probe into anti-social behaviour in Argyll resort.

Oban Community Council is trying to identify the extent of anti-social behaviour problems in the town to assist a local authority clampdown on offenders.

An anti-social behaviour coordinator has been appointed by Argyll and Bute Council and the community council has been asked to help develop a strategy, tailored to the exact needs of Oban.

Kenny MacIntyre, chairman of Oban Community Council, said: "Oban Community Council take a very dim view of anti-social behaviour in all its manifestations and readily recognise it as the scourge of everyday life in our communities today.
