North-east mum dies at 49 after battle with lung cancer.

A Stonehaven mother-of-two has died after a short battle with cancer.

Sheila Fell, who was 49, was described by her family as a very determined woman who thought of others before herself.

She was born and raised at St Andrews and moved to the north-east with her husband, Duncan, 52, in 1979 when they made Stonehaven their home.

The couple later spent time in Saudi Arabia and Oman but returned to the Mearns town to raise eldest daughter, Nikki, 19.

A keen walker and badminton player who had generally enjoyed good health, Mrs Fell first sensed something was wrong in June last year.
