French lawyer faces suit for role in Togo crisis.

Paris, France (PANA) - The French legal system has called for two-year imprisonment for French jurist Charles Debbasch and issued a writ of arrest against him after being suspected of assisting in the constitutional amendments that enabled Faure Gnassingbe to ascend into power in Togo.

But a judicial source here Monday said Debbasch, a former dean of the law faculty at Aix-en-Provence University, who was accused of "forgery and using false" documents to change the succession clauses, did not appear for judgement.
