Section: Business News - The government's recent 60 stang a litre cut in the diesel fuel subsidy is likely to further weaken already depressed consumer sentiment in the industrial sector, according to the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI).
Unveiling its latest survey of 33 Thai industry 33 sectors, FTI Vice President Santi Vilassakdanon said the overall confidence index for January 2005 stood at 104.8, down from 106.1 a month earlier.
He attributed the fall to a series of well-publicised consumer protests against poor quality new cars.
