Section: General News - A local official was shot dead and another seriously wounded yesterday by three men on a motorcycle in the southern province of Pattani, police said.

Prawit Ketsaro, 42, vice president of the Kohchan Tambon Administration Organisation in Ma-Yor district was hit in the temple and died instantly in his pickup truck.

Prawit's passenger, four-month-pregnant Puyiya Panoh, 31, a vice president of Krawa Tambon Administration Organisation, was shot in the stomach and head and suffered a broken leg when the pickup skidded off the road. She was still in critical condition.
