: The desktop PC market saw a growth of 14% in the quarter ended December '04 compared to the same period last year.

This is a sequential growth of 12% over the previous quarter. With increased sales throughout the year and the last quarter accounting for maximum sales, the industry is expected to comfortably touch the 4m mark in PC sales, according to the Manufacturers Association of Information Technology (MAIT).
