MUMBAI: The Sewri-Nhava Sheva trans-harbour sealink, estimated to cost Rs 3,000 crore, is likely to get a shot in the arm with the Union finance ministry inclined to pledge over Rs 500 crore for the project. The sealink would give a filip to socio-economic development in the Mumbai region.
With the project's financial viability assured, the 22.5-km bridge, which would connect Mumbai with Raigad district, is likely to find mention in Union finance minister P Chidambaram's list of 'mustdos' for Mumbai when he presents the national budget on Monday.
