NEW DELHI: Sunday's state assembly results are likely to impact both UPA and NDA. Though equations are expected to be somewhat skewed within UPA, this is hardly likely to plunge the ruling alliance into a life-threatening crisis. For NDA - which entered these polls from a comatose position - the results are a shot in the arm.

Since the Lok Sabha elections UPA has been on an upward trajectory. Suddenly, it has got a jolt. The threat of a resurrected NDA will, in the short run, make the alliance partners hang together. But, it will make them question the faith they reposed in the Congress.
