SARASOTA COUNTY
Roland Beck
Roland Beck, 79, Sarasota and formerly of Gloucester, N.J., died Feb. 26, 2005, at home.
He was born Oct. 17, 1925, in Delaware and came to Sarasota 18 years ago from Gloucester. He retired as a custodian for the Camden County Schools, Camden, N.J., and served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion in New Jersey.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Dorothy; daughters Alice and Bonnie; and sons Philip, Edward and Brian, all of Gloucester; stepsons Chuck VanHorn and Fred VanHorn, both of Sarasota; a sister, Edith of Gloucester; and eight grandchildren.
Inurnment will be in Palms Memorial Park in Sarasota. Palms Funeral Home, Sarasota, is in charge.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
