SEOUL, Feb 28 Asia Pulse - South Korean stocks rose for a third day Monday on growing hopes for an economic rebound, with the key index closing above the 1,000-point mark for the first time in more than five years.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 14.41 points, or 1.44 percent, to close at 1,011.36, a level not seen since Jan. 4, 2000. The tech-rich KOSDAQ index gained 3.51 points, or 0.70 percent, to 498.38.
