Mexicans and Americans think it is best for their countries to take an active role in world affairs rather than to stay out. People in both countries agree on the importance of combating terrorism, preventing the spread of nuclear weapons, and stopping the flow of illegal drugs into the U.S. Majorities in both countries favor a hemispheric free trade agreement. Mexicans believe NAFTA has helped the United States more than it has helped their country. Americans believe the agreement has helped Mexico more than the United States.
