Section: Business News - Reference prices for steel bars and structural steel will remain unchanged until the middle of next month to help stabilise construction costs, according to the Internal Trade Department, the Bangkok Post reports.

In order to curb rising prices for steel bars and structural steel, the department set reference prices last October in the hope that the measure would prevent hoarding and profiteering during the peak construction period.

Reference prices, including value-added tax but not delivery costs for steel bars of 6mm and 9mm in diameter, were set at 21.20 and 20.70 baht per kilogramme, …
