A NORTHERN Ireland theatre could soon be offering its students a chance of fame when it opens up its own school for the performing arts.
Newtownards, Co Down, may seem a million miles from the bright lights of New York but the owners of the town's Web Theatre, Ian and Candice Foster, are determined their drama students have the best training possible.
They are also keen to ensure that the young people keep their feet firmly on the ground.
The couple have transformed an old Victorian factory into a 150 seat state-of-the-art theatre and already run a full range of drama classes. Their plan is to run a series of masterclasses by homegrown actors and travelling players.
Ian Beattie, one of the stars of Oliver Stone's film Alexander, was the first actor to hold a drama workshop at the North Street theatre.
