Tokyo, Feb. 14 (Jiji Press)--Japanese video game software maker Namco Ltd. said Monday its group operating profit fell 26.4 pct from a year earlier to 10,803 million yen for April-December as a lack of blockbuster software titles dampened sales.

Nine-month consolidated sales came to 132,024 million yen, down 1.9 pct.

But its group net profit suffered only a slight 0.2 pct drop to 6,603 million yen as smaller special loss and tax payments than a year before helped limit the negative impact of the sales drop.

Namco's home-use video game software division logged operating profit and sales declines, of 38.0 pct and 16.5 pct respectively, due to the absence of major software hits.

The amusement facility management business was slack, hit by Japan's foul weather.
