WITH SOME of the country's biggest retailers pushing for deregulation of Sunday opening hours, the Forum of Private Business has warned that wholesale changes could be catastrophic for local shops. It believes that an open all hours policy would extend existing inequalities in competition and any deregulation must be done with current imbalances in mind. 'My Sunday, My Choice'--a campaign supported by companies such as ASDA, IKEA and B&Q, is intended to influence the government in its consideration of Sunday trading laws.
