BANGKOK (XFN-ASIA) - Thailand's junta leader said the military has released four top aides to deposed prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra who had been held since the Sept 19 coup.
"They have already been freed this morning," coup leader General Sonthi Boonyaratglin told reporters when asked about the fate of the four senior politicians.
"It is the police's responsibility to take care of them," he added.
The three were released the day after the junta strengthened a panel investigating graft allegations against Thaksin and members of his government.
