TAIPEI, Sept 29 Asia Pulse - Taiwan's growth potential remains strong despite the decline in country's global competitiveness ranking this year, Council for Economic Planning and Development (CEPD) Chairman Hu Sheng-cheng said Thursday.

Hu was referring to the Global Competitiveness Report 2006-2007 released Tuesday by the Swiss-based World Economic Forum (WEF), in which Taiwan drops from eighth place last year to 13th this year in terms of its Global Competitiveness Index ranking.
