Kids get a head start on Valentine's Day at the library.(B SECTION)

The preschoolers at Wednesday's story circle at the Elsie Quirk Public Library already know a lot about Valentine's Day.

When Aldona Tamkus, youth librarian, asked the youngsters what Valentine's Day means, the kids shouted out "hearts, chocolate and love."

There was a little bit of each of those at the program. Several of the children brought valentines to share with their friends. After the story program, they made their own valentine and a special bag to carry their cards home in.

They also got to take home a valentine chocolate from Tamkus.
