* Thanks so much for the insightful article on how the NHL lockout has affected someone other than the selfish players and the greedy owners (TSN, October 25). I already miss hockey. However, I'm so angry at both sides that sometimes I hope they never solve their problems. It would serve them right for thinking of themselves first and the fans last.

* Billy Bob Thornton pretty much hit the nail on the head in his My Turn column (TSN, October 11). I am a high school football official, and I have almost uniformly run into nothing but happy, enthusiastic, play-for-fun types. That goes for the kids, the coaches and, yes, even the officials. In a punishing sport in which tempers can flare, I can't tell you how many young gentlemen I have had the privilege to run into.
