As MP Wanjusi Wasieba walked out of the South Committee room on the third floor of the South Wing of Parliament last week, misery was written all over his face. For close to an hour, he sat and received a barricade of questions from a vetting team of MPs led by Speaker Edward Sekandi.

Apparently, the team of 30 MPs found MP Wanjusi Wasieba's academic qualifications suspect and deemed it fit to withhold his appointment as Fisheries Minister. Local press came out screaming with headlines that read, "Wasieba rejected" for that moment was in a way historic.
