The Indiana MTA held its state conference November 12-13, 2004, at Butler University in Indianapolis. The conference featured composer Phillip Glass and the "Bang on a Can All Stars" ensemble and performances by commissioned composer Frank Felice and American Pianists Association Fellows Thomas Rosenkrantz and Michael Sheppard "Chamberfest" highlighted pre-college chamber music ensembles and master classes in piano, strings and voice were offered as a part of the Butler University Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Young Artist Competition.
The Ohio MTA met November 4-6 in Fairborn, Ohio, for its annual conference. Gail Berenson, NCTM, MTNA vice president, presented a plaque in honor of OMTA's 125th year of affiliation.
