MTNA member Amy Davis of Bountiful, Utah, is using her persona story to help others. Four years ago, she was involved in a cheerleading accident that nearly ended her life. This traumatic brain injury set her life on a different course. An active musician, she believed she might not be able to play the piano or violin again. Davis realized after returning to school at Weber State University in Utah that her life wasn't the same as before, but with personal determination along with support from family, friends and professors, she was able to overcome the brain injury. In years following the accident, Davis has taken a proactive role helping others who have experienced similar injuries. She also has worked to educate the public about brain injuries and prevention methods.
