At the annual business meeting, the MTNA Board of Directors will propose amendments to Article V of the MTNA Bylaws, which relates to division officers. The purpose of the amendment is to restructure the membership on the Board of Directors to develop more effective lines of communication with the states through the division structure. The title "division president" and "division presidents-elect" will be changed to director and director-elect for each division.
The director will serve on the Board of Directors and as director of the division. The division director-elect, elected by the division membership, will automatically assume the position of director.
To provide a smooth transition, it is proposed that the current division presidents will run for the Board of Directors in 2006 (2006-2008 term) if they so choose. After the 2006-2008 term, the division directors-elect will be elected via election procedures in the current bylaws.
