Dakar, Senegal (PANA) - Professor Monkombu Sambasivan Swaminathan, whose Green Revolution helped contain Asia's cycles of famine in the 60s and 70s has spelt out conditions he deems indispensable to the promotion of agriculture in Africa.
Addressing the Dakar international forum on agriculture at the weekend, Swaminathan drew from the Green Revolution in India and China to insist that "three ingredients must be combined to emerge from food dependence."
