EAST MANATEE -- Explosive development in East Manatee County has led to the construction of two elementary schools, creating a ripple that will affect attendance at eight other elementary schools in the Manatee County School District.
"Redistricting is going to be a way of life in Manatee County for a while," said Herb Tschappat, the district director of planning.
Each of the schools -- Blackburn, Braden River, Duette, Freedom, Gilbert W. McNeal, Virgil Mills, Myakka City and Gene Witt -- are represented on three committees, with a teacher, a parent and an administrator from the schools in each. …
