JAMES DAVITT has reversed his decision to quit the Westmeath football squad and has pledged his commitment for the season ahead.

Davitt had indicated in recent weeks that he was no longer able to give the time as the Leinster champions set about defending their title. But the defender has returned to training to stem the flow of players opting out.

Earlier Fergal Wilson and Brian Morley had both stated that they did not wish to be considered for duty in 2005, though Wilson may come back into the picture later in the year.
