The claim: The Gillette M3Power razor uses a AAA battery to vibrate its head, thereby providing what Gillette modestly terms its "best shave ever."

The check: We pitted the M3Power, $16, against another triple-blade razor from Gillette, the Mach3 Turbo, $9. Both are sold with two cartridges. We asked 18 men to use each razor at home for a week and complete a questionnaire. We also had the panelists at our headquarters shave one side of their face with each razor. Three staffers trained in such matters then felt their faces and scored the closeness of each shave.
