The University of Louisville's trustees voted 14-1 recently to add domestic partners to the school's health plan. More than 4,800 employees will be eligible for the new plan, but not all are expected to enroll.

The university is the first in Kentucky to cover non-married homosexual and heterosexual partners of employees in health insurance.
