Sep. 23--PATTON TOWNSHIP -- Before Friday, everyone at Park Forest Elementary School knew that Brenda Hartman was an outstanding teacher.
Then it became official. In front of proud colleagues, Hartman received a 2006 American Star of Teaching award from the U.S. Department of Education for her innovation and dedication.
