Sean T. Connaughton took the oath of office as maritime administrator this month. Acting Secretary of Transportation Maria Cino conducted the ceremony at the U.S. Department of Transportation headquarters.

Prior to his appointment, Connaughton was chairman of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors. He is a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and an active-duty veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. …
