A collection takes on a life of its own. It can seem joyful at one moment, serious another, but there is always one primal quality: life. A collection lives, and in living, it grows, often in unexpected directions but always with a mind of its own. I hope this article reflects that wonderful quality in the silver collection at Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia as it has evolved over the past several years.
