As the Planning Committee on National Dialogue recently set up by the Federal Government winds up its task with a view to submitting its recommendations to Government by the end of the year, we, of the Alliance for Democracy, declare that there are deficiencies in the process to date which must be addressed in order to gain the confidence of Nigerians.

Much as we disapprove of the approach taken by the Government so far, particularly, the appointment of a committee whose membership does not suggest multi-partisanship and independence, we cautiously welcome Government's admission that a National Dialogue is needed. As a Party …
