Indications emerged yesterday that the serious factional crisis rocking the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may have taken a turn for the worst with the reported expulsion of party chieftain and Esama of Benin, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion.

Chairman of Ovia North East Local Government Area, who is son of the Esama and younger brother of Governor Lucky Igbinedion, Charles Igbinedion, was also allegedly suspended from the party in the series of "disciplinary measures" announced to newsmen in Benin-City, yesterday by another party chieftain and hitherto well-known associate …
