JULAU TOWN CUT OFF BY FLOOD WATERS.

SARIKEI, Dec 31 (Bernama) -- Julau town has been cut off by land after its main access road was inundated by flood waters which were rising to danger level, Julau Member of Parliament Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum said today.
Salang, who is the Deputy Foreign Minister, visited Julau and nearby Pakan last night and said the floods forced shops to close but the authorities were making efforts to send supplies of food, petrol and other necessities to those affected.
Speaking to Bernama here, he said about 300 families from 12 longhouses and the Mosque area had moved to higher ground.
