(From Yorkshire Evening Post)
By Peter Smith LEEDS RHINOS' fringe men have been told there is everything to play for when they face National Two outfit York City Knights at Bootham Crescent on Monday.
Rhinos' line-up includes just two members of their Grand Final-winning team, but 11 of the players on duty have been awarded squad numbers for 2005 and coach Tony Smith said they all have something to prove.
"I am looking for a good performance," said Smith, who will hand over coaching duties on the day to his assistant Stuart Wilkinson.
"It is a chance to impress for everybody. They are all vying for positions. It is a strong line up and all these people need to play for one reason or another.
"It should be great experience for some of the young guys and some form-finding for a few other people. People who played on Boxing Day need to continue their good form and some people need the extra fitness workout, so that is going to be of benefit to them.
"They are very much looking forward to it. They see it as another opportunity to impress and to push for positions." The majority of Monday's squad were involved in the big Boxing Day win over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Smith said: "They set high standards and the game at York gives them chance to show they can do it consistently.
