(From Yorkshire Post)
Ian Waugh A HUNT was under way last night for men who fled the scene of a car crash in which a woman died on the way home from a festive family gathering.
Andrea Duffy, 41, died instantly when the Rover car she was in collided with a Renault Laguna near Sheffield United's Bramall Lane ground in the early hours of yesterday.
She had been at a get-together with her partner's family and had been picked up by 70-year-old William Roberts who was taking her back to her Meersbrook home in the city.
Mr Roberts was badly injured and taken to hospital but two or three men in the Laguna ran from the scene without checking on the condition of those injured, or calling for an ambulance.
Forensic experts were examining the Laguna yesterday.
Insp Steve Marshall, who is heading South Yorkshire Police's investigation, said: "We are following a number of lines of inquiry and we have no doubt that we will track these people down.
