PRAGUE, Jan 1 (CTK) - The list of Czechs who have not been heard from since the December 26 devastating earthquake in southeast Asia contains 45 names to date, deputy foreign minister Pavel Svoboda told CTK today.
He said there are still serious apprehensions for the lives of five Czechs in Thailand and one in Sri Lanka.
The death of one Czech woman in Thailand has been officially confirmed.
"We have 45 persons who have not been contacted, we have no further confirmed death," Svoboda said after a meeting of the emergency committee which Prime Minister Stanislav Gross also attended.
Gross has convoked an extraordinary meeting for January 4 to discuss the situation in southeast Asia, including further Czech aid to the afflicted areas.
