Winding up the year's social events with a bang was the wedding of Varangkana Yoovidhya, daughter of Red Bull tycoon Chalerm and Daranee Yoovidhaya, to ML Korkrita Kritakara, son of MR Krita and Tharinee Kritakara.

The wedding had been planned well, down to every little detail, with the entire first floor of The Oriental booked a year in advance for the occasion, from the Royal Ballroom to Lord Jim's, which was the venue of a private, after-reception, dinner for the bride's mother, Daranee Yoovidhya, who celebrated her birthday on the same day.
