OPPOSITION groups out to destabilize the government are still "courting" members of the military to help them, Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez said the other day.

Gonzalez said destabilization efforts were continuing even though an alleged plot to use the funeral of actor Fernando Poe Jr. on Dec. 22 to spark an uprising fizzled out.

"The courting of the military continues. There will always be adventurism given our (political) climate," he said.

Gonzalez did not identify the destabilizers, however, but said that intelligence agencies continued to monitor their movements.
