IT'S been two years since Simple Plan's ultra-successful multiplatinum debut, but as the title of their sophomore release puts it, they feel that they're "Still Not Getting Any."

"Do you ever feel out of place?," they sing in the currently ubiquitous "Welcome to My Life." "Like somehow you just don't belong, and no one understands you." The entire album is riddled with angsty teenage sentiments like: "It's me against the world" and "I'm so frustrated/ I just want to jump"-and it makes us wonder whether their success has had any positive effect at all.

Growing up

Perhaps it's just because they haven't finished growing up yet (and if you have a look at their adolescent antics in the accompanying VCD, you'd think that they haven't even started). No doubt we felt that other people "don't know what it's like/ To be like me" when we were going through the same growing pains.

Nevertheless, despite all this puberty- and boredom-induced drama, we can't deny that the boys' music makes for highly enjoyable ear candy. Infused with seemingly boundless youthful energy, "Still Not Getting Any" is as hook-laden as 2002's "No Pads, No helmets...Just Balls," with catchy choruses and sing-with-us melodies.
