Tougher measures should be taken to intensify the crackdown on intellectual property right (IPR) violations, says an editorial in Beijing News. An excerpt follows: In a judicial interpretation on IPR infringement, released by the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate on December 21, a stricter criterion was laid down. The move has greatly reduced the threshold to punishing IPR violators. However, this is only an initial achievement in protecting IPR.
