I T'S almost time for a crowd of artistically-minded Year 11 students to descend on Canberra for the National Gallery of Australia and Sony Foundation's annual summer scholarship program.

From January 16 to 22, 16 top visual arts students will experience a week of intensive creative workshops with artists and interaction with the gallery's professional staff. The scholars are selected from hundreds of applicants each year from schools in each state and territory in Australia.
