Chubb fined $1.5m The consumer watchdog warned yesterday it would seek remedies for criminal breaches of the Trade Practices Act, as Chubb Security Australia was fined $1.51 million in the Federal Court. The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said Federal Court Justice Annabelle Bennett had fined Chubb in Sydney over criminal breaches of the Act. The move came after Chubb pleaded guilty in October to 26 charges of contravening the Act. ''The charges related to Chubb contracting to provide security services,'' the ACCC said. ''At the time Chubb had reasonable grounds to know that it would not be able to supply the contracted services …
