CEBU CITY-The Supreme Court has ordered the dismissal from service of a regional trial court judge who became controversial here when he convicted the alleged fall guy in the parricide case against cult leader Ruben Ecleo for the slaying of his wife in 2002.

In an en banc decision promulgated on Dec. 17, the High Tribunal ordered the forfeiture of all retirement benefits and privileges of Judge Ildefonso Suerte, the presiding judge of RTC Branch 60 in Barili town, 60 km south of this city.
