DOHA (Qatar), Dec 24 (Bernama) -- Malaysian construction firms eagerly anticipating the call to tender for construction of the proposed US$1.8 billion (RM6.84 billion) 40-kilometer Bahrain-Qatar causeway now have another causeway to look forward to.

Among the announcements to arise from the just-concluded 25th GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) summit in Bahrain, local newspapers yesterday reported that a causeway is to be built between the UAE and Qatar, bypassing Saudi Arabia.
