There was little increase in participation in women's athletics compared to their male counterparts in the 2002-2003 year, according to the new NCAA Gender-Equity Report.
The most recent report shows that women's and men's athletics participation in Division I held at 44 and 56% respectively from last year's report. Division I-A and Division II had a 1% increase in the proportion of female athletes, while Division III saw a 2% increase.
