THE OLD SCHOOL 
 
   Pushed down a flight of stairs at twelve, 
   I missed four steps and broke my foot. 
 
   I hobbled to the top again, 
   And passed the afternoon in class 
 
   In agony, then took my bus 
   To the railway station; then by train 
 
   And one more bus, I made it home, 
   Too sick to eat, or to explain:
